Advent Luncheon

Special Luncheons

MBPC holds three special luncheons each year – Miles College Sunday Luncheon (typically the last Sunday of February); Lenten Luncheon (typically Palm Sunday) and our Advent Luncheon (typically the first or second Sunday in December). The Hospitality Committee teams up with Linda Speaker and her top chefs to host the luncheons. Volunteers are needed for the following:

1. Set up for the luncheon: Volunteers meet the day before the luncheon (Saturday) at 10:00 a.m., to set up the fellowship hall for the luncheon. Tables and chairs arranged; tables set; centerpieces on tables; Preschool baby chairs removed from chairs (if needed) and chairs cleaned; any other miscellaneous tasks. This takes about an hour – and there are usually chocolate chip cookies on the counter for the helpers!
2. Assist with serving on the day of luncheon. The Youth usually take care of getting the beverages to the tables; two or three volunteers are needed to oversee and assist.
3. Clean up after the luncheon: Volunteers stay after the luncheon is served to clean up. (basically the reverse of the setup crew).
