February was a busy month here at MBPC. If you're reading this, then you know how to use the internet, and if you know how to use the internet, you know that the Super Bowl was played this month. In order for us to engage in some friendly competition between Patriots fans and Falcons fans, we placed to containers with either team's logo on it outside to reception area. Over the course of several Sundays, our folks were encouraged to bring canned food to church and place it in the box corresponding to the team for whom they were rooting.
Thankfully for this Atlanta native, the Falcons box was nearly overflowing (not that that matters in the grand scheme). Unfortunately, this was not borne out on game day. Nonetheless, we collected nearly an entire grocery cart full of non-perishable food and over $200 to give to Greater Birmingham Ministries' hunger relief programs, which is way better than a Falcons win would've been! Praise God from whom all blessings flow!
